Mooring Rope Introduction

In the past, steel cables, linen or cotton ropes were commonly used; after the emergence of synthetic fibers, most of them were made of nylon, polypropylene, vinylon, polyester, etc. In addition to light weight, high strength, good impact resistance and abrasion resistance, synthetic fiber ropes have the advantages of corrosion resistance, mildew resistance, and insect resistance. For example, the strength and abrasion fastness of nylon ropes are several times higher than hemp and cotton ropes, and the specific gravity of polypropylene ropes is less than water, which can float on the water and is easy and safe to operate. Chemical fiber cable is divided into 3 strands, multi-strand twisted cable and 8-strand, multi-strand twisted cable according to the processing structure. The 3-strand cable is generally 4-50 mm in diameter, and the 8-strand cable is generally 35-120 mm in diameter. In addition to chemical fiber ropes, they are also widely used in transportation, industry, mining, sports and fishery. According to the needs of special applications, metal materials can also be incorporated into the cable core.
